Amy is a professional conductor and music teacher, with primary instrumental specicalization in piano and flute for any level student through the most advanced. Given her past experience and education, she has the ability and enthuasiam to teach any woodwind, brass, or stringed instrument to the eager beginner through intermediate student. Amy also LOVES music theory and will work with anyone who wants to learn how to read music, needs help in a certain course, or simply wants to learn more about the interworkings of music.
Amy is a local high school band director as well as a doctoral student at the University of Hartford's The Hartt School working on her PhD in Music Education. Currently, she is teaching Advanced Instrumental Conducting at Hartt and working with the Instrumental Methods courses. Amy holds a B.A. in Music, a B.S. in Education, and a Masters of Music in Instrumental Conducting from the University of Connecticut. She is the President Elect of Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) and Connecticut State Representative for Women Band Directors International.
