Later in life, I decided to pursue this passion, taking classes at the Community College, then at George Mason University in VA, graduating from there with a BM in 1982.
I was already teaching and then joined the Springfield Music Club (in VA), being a member for 20 years and President of the club from 1999 to 2001. I made lots of friends and learned even more about teaching from all the members. I participated in many activities, preparing students for recitals, festivals and competitions, organizing, judging, and chairing some of the events. During this time I also attended various pedagogy classes, and some advanced classes at GMU, in addition to various performing opportunities at GMU and SMC. I also continued taking private piano lessons during those years.
I love teaching children and adults, and passing along this Gift of Music!
