About Elizabeth McHatton

Elizabeth is the band director at Manchester Middle School in Chesterfield County. She is a recent graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she received her Bachelors degree in Music Education. She remains actively involved in music education programs at VCU where she is assistant to Dr. Terry Austin, director of bands at VCU, for his youth music program, the Greater Richmond Youth Wind Ensemble. She is also co-director of the Richmond Honor Band with Rover Ellithorpe. Elizabeth is an active flute performer in the Richmond area and is a founding member of the Commonwealth Winds, directed by Dr. Terry Austin.

Elizabeth has had numerous band and private students make top performing ensembles in the area including District Band, County Band, Richmond Honor Band, and GRYWE. These students are often in the top of their section. Students who have graduated from Elizabeth's band program have gone on to be leaders in their high school programs, being the top in their section and someone their band directors can depend on.

Elizabeth looks forward to meeting all potential students and would be gland to assist with an questions you may have pertaining to flute or other band instruments.
