About Grant

Grant Davis is active as a performer, educator, and patron of music, with teaching and playing experience throughout the midwest and northeast. Active primarily as a freelance player, he has also performed with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, the GradBrass Quintet of Ohio University, and was the winner of the 2011 Concerto Competition at Frostburg State University. Grant has actively sought to expand the brass repertoire, commissioning and premiering new works for trumpet and mixed ensembles, including the newly composed A Carol for Winter for Trumpet, Tuba, and Piano by Andrew Pergiovanni.

Grant has taught privately in Maryland, Ohio, and Connecticut and has recently started teaching lessons via Skype. He has been a trumpet instructor for various high schools, assisting with multiple band settings. He established and directed the Grace Baptist Brass Ensemble and more recently was named an Orchestra Director at Faith Fellowship Church at the University of Hartford.

His education includes a Music Education degree from Frostburg State University and a Master of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from Ohio University. Presently, he attends the Hartt School, earning a DMA in Performance
