About Me

Hello! My name is Jeff Bosacki. I am the Retail Manager of "The Pro Shop" in scenic Itasca Illinois.

I started in music at a very young age taking piano lessons. I then moved onto alto saxophone in fourth grade at Fremont Middle School in Mundelein Illinois. I then soon moved to tenor saxophone.

In late middle school I picked up the clarinet and found something I truly enjoyed. I then started playing clarinet at Mundelein High School in Mundelein Illinois.. We had a lot of clarinetists and saxophonists in high school so I decided to try the bass clarinet. From there I found my true passion. In high school I played with our Wind Ensemble and Jazz Bands as well as a variety of different performance opportunities my school offered. I also had the pleasure of playing with the Midwest Young Artist Youth Orchestra in Fort Sheridan Illinois. From there I decided to pursue a career in Music in Both Clarinet and Bass Clarinet

After high School I ventured to The University of Iowa where I pursued a degree in Music and Clarinet performance where I studied with esteemed Clarinetist Dr. Maurita Murphy Mead. I played with The Iowa Symphony Band, The Iowa Symphony Orchestra, The Hawkeye Marching band, the Iowa Steel Bands as well I took organ lessons for a few years.

Some of my favorite Clarinetists are Lukas Foss, John Bruce Yeh, J Lawrie Bloom and Sabine Meyer.

Some of my favorite Composers are Paul Hindemith, Percy Grainger, Eric Mandat and Alfred Reed.

Brands I'm really passionate about and play on include Buffet Crampon, Selmer Paris, D'addarrio Reserve Reeds and Breedlove Guitars. More about the items I play on can be found on the "Gear List" tab!

I recently moved back to Illinois from Connecitcut where I managed the Music and Arts in East Hartford Connecticut. Before that I worked in the Itasca Location for almost two years.
