Jessie Primett has been playing the violin for over 40 years. She received a Bachelor’s of Music Education degree from Mercyhurst University. Jessie’s concentration was violin pedagogy. After graduating music school, she attended the Hartt Suzuki String Institute and Central Pennsylvania’s Suzuki String Institute to receive Suzuki Violin teacher training.
Jessie has introduced Suzuki violin lessons to children starting at age 2. Suzuki violin lessons look very different teaching toddler ages than a child in elementary ages. Jessie has been teaching both Suzuki and Traditional lessons since 1998. She has taught violin in many different venues such as; in a private, music school, Christian school, and studio setting.
Rather than trying to juggle raising 4 children and the demands of playing in an orchestra, Jessie chose to raise her family and teach part time. Her children grew up hearing beautiful classical music as well as the gifted musicians of different generations.
Jessie has experience teaching toddlers, elementary age, children with academic and behavioral special needs, and at risk teens.
Jessie looks forward teaching youth at Music and Arts and will modify the curriculum and method to meet the need of each student and family lifestyle.
