Jillian received her BA in Vocal Performance from Shepherd University in 2013, where she performed as Sandman in Hansel and Gretel, and Nurse Lola in The Gallantry. During the summers of 2012 and 2013, she studied with Neil Rosenshein at the Manhattan School of Music in their summer opera program. After taking two years off, she went on to receive a dual MM from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy. While there she performed in both a US premiere and world premiere opera, and studied with Steve Rainbolt. Jillian has taught with The Frederick Children’s Chorus since 2013. There she had conducted, and taught musicianship and vocal technique to 3-18 year olds. When Jillian isn’t involved in music, she is traveling the globe doing humanitarian work South America, Asia, and Africa, as well as trekking mountains like Mount Kilimanjaro and Mt Everest Base Camp. She values a positive and communicative environment for her students, and hopes to express the vitality of the arts in a person’s life.
