I've been teaching guitar since I waas 19; I'm now 59--you do the math ;-), I've taught music in public schools from K-12, I've taught guitar electric bass ukulele bass uke band instruments and strings.
I love working with children of all ages (I've had studenta from 5 to 85!), and I specialize in teaching good fundamentals to students- technique, music reading, and music theory. But I also teach "lick-by-lick" lead guitar and bass, if that's what the student wants.
My formal background is in classical guitar but I've also played bass guitar for many years and I play electric guitar and ukulele, mostly for fun! I'm also a decent sax player & have played that in a couple of groups, but I play mostly for my own pleasure. Since I love a wide variety of music, I've always tried to keep my rock, blues, and jazz chops up.
On a typical day you might find me working on a Bach Cello Siute in the morning, going through a set of country tunes in the afternoon, then playing bass uke with a jazz combo.
Come see me if you or your child wants a great, experienced teacher who loves to teach!
