Kate Swanson is a musician of the Denver Metro area. Miss Swanson has played the violin for over twenty years. She grew up learning violin through the Suzuki Method and playing in small ensembles. Since then, she has performed with many area instrumental and Renaissance- focused vocal ensembles, including performances for local composer Francis J. Pierson and the Littleton Symphony Orchestra. She currently enjoys playing in a string quartet. Miss Swanson holds a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music, UK in Violin Performance. She received her Suzuki training under William Starr, Dorothy Jones, and Kathleen Spring at the University of Denver. She also studied the Ward Method (music literacy) at University of Northern Colorado under Dr. Alise Brown.
In her private studio teaching, Miss Swanson enjoys augmenting lessons with age and skill appropriate basic theory, music history, aural training, and sight-reading. She also teaches Suzuki Early Childhood Education and group violin classes through Primavera Place Suzuki School.
