About Kyle McMaster

Kyle McMaster was born and raised in the small rural town of Terra Bella, CA on a family owned and operated citrus farm. Very early in his life, he was exposed to music and by the age of 7 was taking piano lessons. At age 12, Kyle began studying Snare Drum and by age 14 was playing in the Porterville High School Drumline. A couple years later, an opening presented itself in the school’s Jazz Big Band and by his senior year he was the lead drummer.

After two years of Community College, Kyle transferred to Azusa Pacific University where in 2013 he graduated with his B.A. in Commercial Music - Arranging and studied Drumset/Percussion performance. During his time at APU, he performed in 6 musical productions (Man of La Mancha, How To Succeed In Business, Music Man, Merrily We Roll Along, Hello Dolly, and In The Heights) and performed with APU’s Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble B. Kyle also began teaching at the Azusa Conservatory of Music as both a Drumset/Percussion private instructor and classroom assistant for the Practical Musicianship class from 2010 to 2013.

In May of 2013, Kyle began working for Alfred Music Publishing in their Rental Library and eventually transitioned to their Sales Administration team before leaving the company in October of 2016 to pursue his career in Score Preparation for film & television.
