Lalia Mangione has been studying violin for the last 16 years. Mangione has won various competitions including the Grand Valley State University Concerto Competition, Westmont College Concerto Competition, Westmont College Guild Scholarship Competition, the MTNA State and Division Competitions, as well as the Skip Gates Concerto Competition. Additionally, Mangione has placed in the Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation Competition, ranked as a national finalist for the MTNA competition, and was recently a finalist in the Student Artist Competition at UNC Greensboro. Mangione is an avid chamber musician currently working as a member of the graduate String Quartet at UNCG. Mangione has also worked with many large ensembles in Michigan, California, and North Carolina, including the Battle Creek Symphony, West Coast Chamber Orchestra, the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, and the Fayetteville symphony Orchestra. In 2016, Mangione Graduated with a B.A. in Violin Performance from Westmont College. Currently, Mangione is a Graduate Assistant studying under the tutelage of Professor Marjorie Bagley at UNCG.
