About Marcus Grant

Freelance musician Marcus S. Grant has been involved in the performing arts as a composer, arranger, conductor, adjudicator, private teacher, featured artist and clinician, church musician, chamber ensemble coach, brass instructor, and amateur media producer for various public schools and organizations across the east coast and mid-west. Mr. Grant received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014 and was the recipient of VCUMusic's distinguished Award of Excellence in Music. In addition, Marcus graduated from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in 2016 with a Master of Music Degree in Trumpet Performance and an outside area of study in Arts Administration.

 

Marcus believes passionately in the promotion and enrichment of quality music education for young people, holding the philosophy that everyone deserves the best experiences in education, and that music is an essential element of those experiences. In addition to being a charter member of the Thomas Dale Chapter of the Tri-M Music Honors Society, his professional affiliations include the International Trumpet Guild (ITG), National Band Association (NBA), Music Teacher's National Association (MTNA), International Thespian Society (ITS), and Kappa Kappa Psi National Band Service Fraternity.
