About Marina

Marina made her singing debut at age 4 on Russian television, and started piano lessons shortly thereafter. She spent her formative years in the cultural melting pot of Los Angeles, studying classical piano and theory at the USC Community School of Performing Arts, now known as The Colburn School.

Marina has  been a professional teacher since her first students knocked on her door with quarters in hand, asking her to show them how to do what she did. At 10 years old, she thought that making 25 cents per lesson was a pretty big deal!

Since those early days, Marina has expanded both her performing and teaching skills. She's been an opera accompanist, vocal coach, lounge pianist, church musician, choir and band director, musical director and orchestra musician for dozens of musical theater productions, keyboardist and backup singer for a rock band touring throughout the U.S. and Mexico, chamber music collaborative artist, the owner and singer of a professional Christmas caroling group, a YouTube creator with her channel, The Piano Keys, and most recently, the creator of Piano Boot Camp, an online course for beginning students.

Throughout all these endeavors, Marina has made it a priority to share the gift of making music with students of all ages, skill levels, and abilities. The only requirements she has of her students is that they have a desire to express themselves through music and that they dedicate their time and efforts toward achieving that desire.

Marina holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from California State University, Northridge, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Multi-Focus Keyboards from California Institute of the Arts.
