About Michaela

Michaela was born into a musical family and began playing piano and guitar by age 3. She started performing at Neighborhood Music School concerts by age 5. In high school she was 4 time Regional Jazz Guitarist, 2 time All-State Guitarist, and had the great honor of being in the National Jazz Band, which performed at Opryland in Nashville. She was a prominent member of the Fairfield County Jazz Guild. Throughout high school, she performed at many venues becoming one of the youngest professional jazz guitarists on the scene. During this time, she played at some prestigious venues such as the Montreal Jazz Festival, Levitt Pavillion, The National Guitar Museuem, and Philadelphia Guitar Show.

Michaela attended The New School in New York City on a presidential scscholarship, where she studied with Vic Juris, Steve Khan, Reggie Workman, and other great Jazz artists. She also attended Western Connecticut State University where she is completing her degree.  Over the past 5 years Michaela has refined her teaching style to allow students to make progress and reach their full potential without stress. Michaela teaches both pick and finger style guitar and styles include Rock, Jazz, Classical, and Pop.
