About Michelle Ross

Michelle Ross received her B.A in Music Education (choral emphasis) from North Central College in Naperville, IL. She studied under music chair Dr Ramona Wis and professors Barbara Vanderwall (piano) and Linda Ogden Hagen (voice).

Michelle has over twenty years of performance experience, whether behind the podium as a conductor or on stage as a singer or accompanist. She has performed at the Wentz Concert Hall at North Central College among other venues in Downtown Naperville and the outlying community. When she's not teaching private lessons, she volunteers at Calvary Church serving in the various music ministries there.

Mrs. Ross has over twelve years of teaching experience. She began her teaching career in 2005 when she took a position as voice and piano instuctor at Fox River Academy of Music & Arts in Oswego. She then transitioned to teaching in the public school system when she accepted a general music teacher position at Welch Elementary School in Indian Prairie School District 204 in Naperville, IL. She taught at Welch Elementary for nine years, instructing over 900+ students per year and leading a 150+ voice elementary chorus. She incorporated Kodaly, Dalcroze, and Orff teaching methods into her daily music instruction for kindergarten-5th grade. She also conducted a 300 voice elementary choir each year at the district's annual Fine Arts Festival held at Neuqua Valley High School. During her time at Welch, she also offered extra-curricular opportunites such as dance ensembles and chamber vocal ensembles that students could be apart of and perform in the annual chorus concerts. During her time as a public school teacher, she also maintained her private music home studio teaching students ranging from the age of 3 to 65 years of age.

When she's not teaching, Mrs. Ross enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt and their little girl, Melody Grace.
