About Paul

Paul Speziale is a multi-instrumentalist and veteran of 50 years in the music business performing on acoustic and electric guitar, tenor banjo, plectrum banjo, Irish tenor banjo, mandolin, ukulele, cello, blues harp and bass. He has also been teaching guitar for 50 years.  He has a B.A. in Fine and Performing Arts from William Paterson University, and has worked and recorded with numerous artists including Angela Bacari, Redd Foxx, Allen & Rossi, Ronnie Spector, Cab Calloway, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, Frankie Avalon and Stella Marrs including 160 shows at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas with Rodney Dangerfield and engagements at the Rainbow Room in Manhattan with Allen & Rossi.

He is past President and Business Agent of Northern New Jersey Musicians' Guild, Local 16-248 of the American Federation of Musicians, past Vice-President of the New Jersey State Council of the American Federation of Musicians.  A member of Local 802 (New York City) of the American Federation of Musicians and past President of the Eastern Conference of Councils, American Federation of Musicians. Former member of Musicians Protective Association, Local 466, American Federation of Musicians, El Paso, Texas. He was also legal counsel to Local 248, American Federation of Musicians (now Local 16-248) 1995-2013.

Paul is musical director of Pastor Paul & the Dixie Deacons, and musical director of the String Jazz Society.  Paul performs regularly as a solo artist, with the Hungry Hollow Group, the on the Lam Dixieland Band, Mystical Kirtan, The Fuzzy Special, the classic rock Band Foor, The Pomona Jam Band, and numerous other artists. He was arranger and musical director for singer, the late Ron Giles.


In 2011, he released a solo CD entitled Got a Lot of Living To Do. The CD features solo acoustic guitar arrangements from the Great American Songbook.
