Samantha has also contributed a great deal of her time to professional and student organizations in and outside of the university. She served as the Public Relations officer in her American String Teachers Association chapter, and was an active member of her National Association for Musical Education and American Choral Directors Association chapters, both a collegiate member, and a national member. As a Level VI musician on violin, a Level V on viola, and IV on cello and string bass, she possesses an excellent understanding of string instruments and how to teach and implement a strings curriculum into any orchestra classroom. Samantha has also volunteered her time outside of school to be a room coordinator at the NYSSMA majors festival, Piano NYSSMA, PEAK festival, All County, and Mock-NYSSMA at Plainedge High School. She is also a Chairperson for the Division II All-County Festival for 2020-2021, as a member of the Nassau Music Educators Association.
Samantha had the pleasure of student teaching in the Herricks school district before graduating from Hofstra. At the conclusion of her student teaching, she received the Student Teacher award from her music department.
After graduating, Samantha went on to work as an orchestra teacher in districts such as Syosset and Cold Spring Harbor as leave replacements before being hired in the Manhasset school district full time. Samantha is currently an elementary orchestra director in the Manhasset, where she directs and teaches two orchestras, grades 4-6, and several classes of general music.
