At five I began playing then piano and many instruments soon followed. My professional career started locally at the age of 17. Before 21 I was hired for commercial work, recording demos, jingles, as well as being on albums doing lead, backup vocals & flute. I also as was opening up for or playing with large acts in downtown Nashville, TN. Some fun names include Tom Waits, Jeremy Wall from Spyro Gyra, and Willie Nelson. Due to my education in the studio, melodic improvisation and song writing, I was offered a position at UCLA as an artist in residence, training juniors and seniors in song writing and improvisation.
My relationship and soon to be family brought me back to the East Coast where I continued playing professionally. Getting involved in my local community I became a praise team leader to Country Side Christian Church for some years, that same time, I started a small business called Kid Tunes by Suzy. We booked community events and children school productions & TV work.
This is when I knew I had a passion for education and passing the gift of music on to children and adults alike. Fast forward to 2019, I reflect upon being in the music industry for over 40 years, and teaching with formally DnD music and now Music & Arts for over 5 years.
