About Suzanne

B.A. in Music Education from William Paterson University. Performance experience includes Colts Neck Community Band, The Ridgewood Concert Band, the Saddle River Concert Band, William Paterson University Wind Ensemble and Flute Choir. About 40 years ago, I started playing the flute and while in middle school, picked up the saxophone so I could participate in the jazz band.  My passion for music remained with me and eventually led me into a teaching career in music. I taught privately through the years and was a Band Director in the public schools for 7 years. I currently teach flute, saxophone, and clarinet to students of all ages, giving me the opportunity to reach them on a more individual level.

I believe that preparing musicians for a lifetime love of music is of utmost importance and it all begins with fun! This excitement leads to higher self-esteem, motivation and ultimately, success. My motto is "Practice makes Progress," and through this mindset, students are always successful and never discouraged. By including different genres of music from classical to jazz to pop, as well as instruction in theory, ear training and composition, students are exposed to musical expression from many different angles. This prevents boredom, which is the number one reason for giving up.  Along with traditional methods, I've also incorporated technology into the learning process for greater levels of achievement.
