About Tim Hamilton
Tim Hamilton is a trumpet performer and music educator. Tim started his professional music career as a member of the United States Marine Corps Band, New Orleans performing over 900 commitments. Highlights include performances for the New Orleans Saints, New York Yankees, Fox and Friends, CBS Morning Show, as well as for several heads of state including the Spanish ambassador to the US. After the military, Tim attended Morehead State University receiving his Bachelor of Music Education, studying trumpet with Greg Wing and a Masters in Trumpet Performance from Appalachian State University with Dr. Jim Stokes. Tim has performed with The Symphony of the Mountains, Cave Run Symphony Orchestra and The Brass Band of Louisville, Derby City Brass Band, and The Brass Band of Appalachia. He has performed with several professional musical theaters including Jenny Wiley Theater’s production of “Shrek, The Musical,” Shawnee State University’s production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” Appalachian State University’s production of “Sweeny Todd,” and with Lees-McRae Summer Theater for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat!” Tim also performs with several local groups in the Louisville area on a freelance basis. Including Tim’s performing, he is an Academic and Admissions advisor for the School of Music at the University of Louisville where he works with incoming, freshmen, and sophomore music students on academic career planning as well as teaches Introduction to Music Study.
