There is a baffling array of online resources available for new students. In my opinion there are many great tools here and there that can help a more advanced player brush up on new skills or repertoire, BUT if tabs and youtube video lessons were all that were needed to become at least a competent player, then why do we not see more evidence of this?
I think that the truth is that nothing beats having a great teacher that can help you to mentor, define, and map out your musical goals and help keep you on track. In order to succeed you have to have goals. How can you get to where you want to be if you don’t know where to go or how to get there? I can help!
I have my bachelors in classical guitar performance form Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA in 1992 and 30 years of playing experience with the last 4 1/2 years having taught over 1500 individual and group lessons. I’ve taught people from ages 6 to 70 years old!
If you are new or intermediate player interested in learning how to read music for guitar along with classical, folk, rock, pop, blues and acoustic singer songwriter material styles, I can help!
How I teach guitar:
That all depends on you! It is important that I understand what your current abilities, goals, and expectations are. My studio has all of the tools, materials and experience at your disposal but the most important thing is your burning desire to learn and willingness to invest the time and energy in practicing and working on your goals a little bit every day! A large part of the value that I can bring to you is to be able to tailor craft a program that works on all aspects of your playing and getting you to your goals faster!!
