I am a passionate music educator with over a decade of performing, studying, and teaching music. I currently attend New Jersey City University, from which I will graduate in May of 2020 with a B.A. in Music Education. It is here that I have had the privilege to study under acclaimed trumpet players such as Billy Hunter (Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Principal) and Christopher Colleti (Canadian Brass.) I had the honor of acting as principal trumpet for both the Symphony of Winds and Percussion and the NJCU Orchestra. I was also granted numerous opportunities to sing with the NJCU chamber singers at Carnegie Hall.
I am an active player in many pit orchestras, community bands and church ensembles throughout the NY/NJ area. I believe that maintaining an active performance career is vital to the process of instructing young musicians, and I encourage them to play as much in the community as possible! Music is meant to be shared, and when children embrace the wonderful and rewarding process that is learning an instrument, they should be able to share their hard work.
I take pride in setting high standards for every student, and in helping each of them to learn with musicianship and pride in their own work. My methods are backed in research and ongoing assessment to ensure each of my students receives the tools they need to advance their own musicianship with every lesson! I love teaching and sharing music with others, and I hope to share the joy that is learning an instrument with your child!
