About Vanessa Solis

Violinist Vanessa Solis is a native of Ecuador, where she received a Bachelors of Music from UESS in Guayaquil-Ecuador, and has been studying violin since the age of 7. In 2019, she received her Masters of Music in Violin Performance at Shenandoah Conservatory, where she studied with renowned violinist Akemi Takayama, She is currently a member of the “Shenandoah Conservatory Orchestra” conducted by Jan Wagner.

Vanessa has had much success in several distinguished competitions in Ecuador such as “Jovenes Talentos I”, “Jovenes Talentos III” and “Concurso Conservatorio La Merced”. From the age of 19, she has performed with such ensembles as the Guayaquil Symphony Orchestra, Mexico-Ecuador Symphony Orchestra, and the Mid Atlantic Symphony Orchestra. She has also worked with Simon Gollo at "Nuevo Mundo Festival" in Aruba.

She has attended master classes with Midori, Dmitri Berlinsky, Benjamin Sung, Roman Revueltas, Emilio Colon, and Enrique Roel. She has worked closely the past three years with Netanel Draiblate who is the concertmaster of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra.

Vanessa has a passion for teaching, which she has been doing since 2013 in Ecuador. She has experience teaching people of all ages and of all experience levels. One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching for Vanessa is watching the Joy that it gives her students whenthey play their instrument. She brings a tremendous enthusiasm to her classes which is passed on to her students.
