About Vinny Okechukwu
Vinny Okechukwu is a professional classical and contemporary vocalist and pianist from Leesburg, VA. His passions for music and the arts started young when he took up trombone at the age of 8. Since then,he has been heavily involved with his school’s band, choir, theatre, and visual art programs and has received multiple national honors and recognition from his high school alma mater, Heritage High School. He then went to study Vocal Performance at James Madison University and took up multiple leadership opportunities such as being the President of The JMU Chapter of The American Choral Directors Association. He was also heavily involved with JMU Choir, Bands, and Theatrical Arts. His latest accomplishment was opening his own visual art gallery on his research on Synesthesia and transference from the mind to the fine arts, in collaboration with Annie Franks. During his career he has been apart of a wide verityof shows from opera, operetta, musical theatre, plays, and choral masterworks. He has also toured and sang with a variety of groups and artist such as Josh Groban, 5 Irish Tenors, and Disney World. His principals of teaching are based upon the connections music has within our human experience.
