About Zachary Patton

Zachary Patton is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Music Education and Performance where he studied under Dr. Robert Jesselson. He has and continues to participate in a variety of orchestras around South Carolina with some examples being Lake Murray, Rock Hill, and USC Symphonies, etc. He has performed in master classes and clinics held at USC-Columbia for The Parker Quartet’s Kee-Hyun Kim, Zuill Bailey, Sarah Kim and many other prominent cellists. His most recent accomplishments are as follows: He was chosen to appear on the noon show of the “Talk of the Town” on WIS TV where he performed Bach’s Prelude from the 1st Suite. He has performed in Shandon’s Singing Christmas many years. He has played in “Welcome 2 My House” with SNL’s Katrese Barnes. He has played for ASTA in Dr. Craig Butterfield’s Jazz Quartet and in Dr. Robert Jesselson’s Cello Choir. And, he has also played alongside Pentatonix’s Kevin Olusola.

Having won competitions around Columbia in his younger years such as the Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, the Youth Philharmonic Concerto Competition, The Columbia College Concerto Competition, etc. Zachary has performed works of Elgar, Tschaikovsky, Bach, and many more. When requested, he has and continues to perform as cellist  at weddings and holiday celebrations held in the Columbia area and plays solo or with other musicians at district honorary banquets/celebrations, family birthdays, church funerals/memorial services, hospitals, and at other community-related services. He has decided to pursue a career in Music Education because he wants to share the joy of learning an instrument with those around him.
