Back to school season is right around the corner! You’ve likely already received your band or orchestra letters or if not will be soon. Time for young musicians to begin their new hobby! I remember when I picked out my flute and played my first notes. I was excited for my first playing test and my first concert. Now that I look back and see how far I have come, I wonder to myself, “How was this ever hard?” Doing anything for the first time can be difficult but with plenty of practice and a positive attitude, no skill is unattainable!
One thing I recall is how easy it was to rent my flute through Music and Arts. Those first few years can be rather hectic with so many new musicians all together in one room and I know my parent’s minds were set at ease because my instrument was covered by Music and Arts’ Liability and Damage Waiver. If anything accidentally were to happen to my instrument we were covered. It didn’t hurt that it covered regular maintenance too. When I entered high school, I knew that performing music was something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life and Music and Arts had me covered when it came time to purchase a more professional flute. Even if I am not going to be the next James Galaway, I will always find a way to perform for others. I still perform with various band groups and can always find new music to play.
Now that I am older, I have the chance to share my experiences with others. By encouraging young musicians and their families to rent through Music and Arts, I know the future generations of young musicians will be well equipped to succeed.
