What a spook-tackular evening! The whole team here at North Frederick was blown away by the amazing support of our Music and Arts community! Staff, teachers, and students alike dressed up for our fun, Halloween themed Open Mic!
The evening was kicked off with one of Mike Haverty's signature dad jokes and several students from his studios taking their turn at the mic! It was wonderful to see the range of talent within his studios!
All in all, we had 15 students perform throughout the night, representing the guitar, ukulele, piano, trumpet, and we even had some singers! We had four of our very own North Frederick teachers perform, as well as a special guest performer from our Rockville store! It is such a treat to be able to experience jazz, classical, romantic, and modern music from the wonderful professionals who grace our studios every week. Thanks again to Michael Haverty, Jonathon Townes, Lana Borisova, Peter Heiss, Rowell Jao, and Zachary Worthy
As always, special thanks goes out to the parents of our young performers! Without their support, enthusiasm, and commitment to their young, budding artists none of this would be possible.
On a personal note, I could not have imagined a better way to say goodbye to my home store at North Frederick. I am moving into a new position within the Music and Arts company, and this marked my last day at the store. These Open Mic Nights have been my special project for several months, now, and it has been incredible to see the excitement among our community grow! It has been an honor to serve our musicians in my own special way. I want to thank my manager, Dustin, for letting me run with my ideas. And I want to thank the teachers who allowed my enthusiasm to excite them, and who passed that excitement along to their students in return! It truly was a team effort to make these events happen, and I couldn't be more proud of what we accomplished together.
We look forward to seeing you next time!
Pictures to come soon!
