We beat the heat last Friday by hosting our Open Mic indoors! We had ice cold Lemonade and fresh cut fruit for our group that came out and a great time was had all around!
Despite many people being on vacation for the summer, we were still able to host 13 performers altogether! We had instrumental representation of the trumpet, flute, saxophone, piano, clarinet, guitar, and even some vocal performers! Our Open Mic nights are open to all performance types, and we look forward to hosting many more varieties of performers in Open Mic’s to come!
We would like to send out an extra special thank you to Adam Book, Chair of the Lake Linganore Assoociation (LLA) Songwriters Club for bringing our Open Mic to the attention of the Club. We absolutely adored hearing the original music by one of their members and we hope we can see more of them in the future!
Remember, our Open Mic’s are free and open to the public! You don’thave to be a member of our studios to participate. So, if you have a private studio or club or group and you’re looking for performance opportunities for your students, please reach out to Alana Kruse at our North Frederick location!
Another special thanks to our teachers who took time out of their schedules to come support the Open Mic: Taryn Leonard, Zach Worthy, and Lana Borisova! All of our teachers are important members of our team here at North Frederick, and we appreciate their dedication to their students’ growth as performers and musicians!
Students of all ages and musical experience are encouraged to perform in the supportive environment we are able to provide here as educators and learners. We had musical arrangements from the classic Hot Cross Buns, all the way to Harry Potter, Queen, and original pieces! We believe it is never too early to start performing! Becoming comfortable as a performer takes just as much practice as technical learning!
Come join us to close out the summer on August 16th for our next Open Mic Night! Be sure to RSVP with Alana any time before August 16th!
